The heart of the college football season has arrived and this weekend will go a long way toward establishing who the contenders and pretenders are in college football.
The game that will receive all the talk will be the #9 Florida versus #1 LSU SEC battle. The winner of that game will automatically be considered a front runner for the SEC and national titles.
Though that game will be featured, many other games will be just as entertaining and just as important as the SEC game.
In the Big Twelve, #10 ranked Oklahoma, fresh off an upset loss to Colorado, travels to face #19 Texas, also coming off a loss.
The Big East has #21 Rutgers hosting #20 Cincinnati, this years surprise team.
The ACC has #15 taking on #22 Clemson in South Carolina and neither team can afford another loss, so the intensity will be high in this game.
Not to be left out, the Big Ten also has a top game as Ohio State will be tested for the first time this season when they play against Purdue and the Boilermakers high powered offense.
The calender has traveled into October and that means the games get a little more important, with the winners elevating themselves into conference championship contention.
